One newly built elementary school will open, several will close. Four Guilford County Board of Education races are up for election.

Archer, Murphey and Wiley elementary schools are now set to close for good at the end of this school year. Swann Middle School will close to students at the same time, but is planned to reopen as a performing arts school some years from now, following a renovation.

The district plans to shut down three elementary including Pine Hall, Pinnacle, and Lawsonville Elementary, according to the school officials.

The school design and layout are like a circuit board, one like the students will possibly learn to make.
