ZEELAND, Mich. â A Holland woman is frustrated with her employer, who is not accommodating her medical condition.
She recently got pneumonia and cannot wear a mask for her entire shift. She has the doctorâs note and the voice to prove it.
But Gentex basically told her that a face shield was a no-go. Thatâs when she contacted the FOX 17 Problem Solvers.

âIf COVID wasnât happening, my job does not require this face mask. So, if I didnât have to wear it, Iâd be working,â said Bhree Layton, who s had asthma since she was 18.

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. â A business owner in Big Rapids finally has thousands of dollars after FOX 17 got involved with his unemployment claim.
He waited for nearly a year, submitted all the paperwork and filled out the right forms.
Despite doing everything that was asked of him, he could not get any solid answers from the UIA as to what was happening.
When a lawmaker highlighted his struggles, I reached out to her to try and help.

He tells FOX 17 the company ignored his pleas for propane after he ran out. Thatâs when a local non-profit got involved to try and fix the situation.
About a month ago, Heap Him and his family went more than a week with no heat or means to cook.
When the gas finally arrived, it showed up nearly a week later than promised.
After FOX 17 contacted the company, his issue was fixed the next day.

MIDDLEVILLE, Mich. â Thereâs outrage in Middleville over online statements made by village president Amanda Fisk.
Following the death of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, she shared an article on her personal Facebook page and laughed about it.
COMMUNITY REACTION
Residents who spoke with FOX 17 say her statements do not represent their village, and as a public official she should step down.
Theyâve even started an online petition calling for her immediate removal.
âHonestly, thatâs not the way you represent a community,â said Amanda Pullen, who has lived in Middleville her whole life.

ALLENDALE, Mich. â The Dalton family in Allendale is frustrated with Consumers Energy after being forced to live in a hotel for nearly two months.
Back in December, their home caught fire after an alleged drunk driver plowed right into it, right into the main room.
HOUSE DESTROYED
âMy husband got a phone call from our neighbor telling us our house was on fire,â said Cathy Dalton. She and her husband Dewayne were both at work when they got that call. Their home on 92nd Avenue and Pierce Street was on fire.
