TRENTON —Candidates for Trenton Select Board and School Committee will meet the public in an informal reception on Sunday, May 7, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Trenton town office.

Hancock County towns that are currently seeking to create a shared animal control position held a Zoom meeting Aug. 25 to discuss the next steps in the process. 

The effort here is to combine these roles and associated costs for the towns to create a position with an attractive paycheck. Currently, many towns are struggling to find and retain animal control officers.

The Trenton Board of Appeals on Aug. 11 denied resident Linda Hodgkins’ appeal of Code Enforcement Officer Angie Chamberlain’s issuance of a building permit to Acadia Aqua Farms.
