Patches or morning fog followed by severe storm possibilities this afternoon.

Most of us will likely remain dry, but I can’t rule out a few passing showers especially for areas west of Interstate 65 this morning.

Fred Hunter talked with Scott about the efforts his department and other partners have had on improving the conditions in the offshore waters of Mobile and Baldwin counties and how the weather affects everything, including fishing season.

First Alert for patchy fog this morning. Visibility could be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less. Any fog that develops this morning should dissipate by 9 a.m.

A strong or severe storm isn’t as likely today, but we can’t rule out a strong storm for areas south of I-20. The main threat will be strong winds and large hail.

First Alert AccuTrack Satellite and Radar is showing us partly to mostly cloudy with most of us dry. An isolated shower can’t be ruled out this morning.

We are starting the morning off with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. A few spots are close to 70°F. It is very warm and muggy for the middle of May. We normally see temperatures in the lower 60s.

A weak cold front approaching Northeast Alabama may provide more rain areas for Mother’s Day afternoon than for the beginning of the weekend.

Southwesterly winds will help keep the humid conditions in place with highs ranging from 88 to 92 degrees.

We are looking at isolated showers this morning, but scattered showers and storms could develop again this afternoon and evening thanks to some daytime heating and leftover outflow boundaries from dissipating storms yesterday and this morning.
