Temperatures will likely end up a few degrees cooler with highs in the mid 80s with a 40% chance of rain and storms.

Storms that fire up today could become strong or possibly severe. The main threat will be frequent lightning, hail, and strong wind gusts up to 40-60 mph.

Not everyone will see rain this morning or today, but don’t be surprised if you encounter some pockets of rain with isolated thunder.

There is a chance for developing showers beginning by midday, especially in North and Northwest Alabama.

We will end up mostly cloudy today with a 50% chance for scattered showers with coverage turning more isolated during the afternoon and evening.

The good news is that humidity levels will remain low, and we will stay dry today.

The winds have thankfully calmed down after yesterday. They should end up lower today, but it will likely remain breezy.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the following counties today from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Etowah, Jefferson, Lee, Marion, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Walker, and Winston counties.

It’ll likely end up windy today with westerly winds at 15-25 mph and highs in the upper 60s with a few spots in the lower 70s.

Flooding overnight rains followed by breezy, drier, cooler conditions.
