The Valley Gem Cruise boat in Marietta celebrates 51 years of service this year. It was named for another Valley Gem steamboat which ran on the Muskingum

At 3:17 p.m. on Tuesday, Longmont police were dispatched to the 2500 Block of Trade Center Avenue to investigate someone living in a Silver Subaru on a public road. A man was arrested on outstanding warrants.  

Police responded Monday morning to the area of East 17th Avenue and East County Line Road after a loose dog attacked an on-leash dog. Police located the dog owner and issued a court summons.

The steamer Reliance was referred to by Capt. Fred Way as being the "goose that laid the golden egg" for Union Barge Line.

The big news in 1935 concerned the packet Cape Girardeau, purchased by the Greene Line Steamers from the Eagle Packet Company of St. Louis.

The steamer City of Pittsburg was destroyed in a fire in April 1902 on the lower Ohio River; at least 60 people were killed.

Capt. Way in his packet directory described the packet Kentucky in such a fashion as to leave no doubt that he was no fan of the boat.

The sidewheel steamer Fleetwood was built at Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1866 for Capt. Charles M. Holloway and other investors.
