In the ongoing jury trial of Bonifacio “Boni” Sagana, who faces a driver’s license fraud charge in the U.S. District Court for the NMI, his lawyer made a motion for acquittal yesterday, but District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona reserved her decision on the motion and continued the trial.

After four hours of deliberation yesterday in the U.S. District Court for the NMI, the 12-person jury in the case against Bonifacio “Boni” V. Sagana unanimously found him guilty of conspiring with Bernadita Zata to illegally produce a CNMI driver’s license. His lawyer said they intend to appeal.

AFTER the prosecution rested their case in chief against Bonifacio “Boni” Sagana Tuesday afternoon, defense attorney Richard Miller made a motion under Rule 29 for acquittal.
