The estranged deputy speaker of Ondo State Hiuse of Assembly had petitioned to the EFCC in 2021 that the Speaker, some members and officials of the Assembly collected N2.4 million for a seminar in Lagos which they did not attend.

 Interestingly, Justice Adegboyega Adebusoye of Ondo State High Court  in his ruling set aside the state law and held that the EFCC has the power to investigate and prosecute the lawmakers for the alleged fraud.

Justice Adegboyega Adebusoye of Ondo State High Court sitting in Akure has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arraign the Speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oloyelogun, over the corruption charges filed against him.   Oloyelogun appeared in court on Wednesday to listen to the ruling of the court on his preliminary objection.
