A chronic alcoholic with almost 70 previous convictions, who launched an “obnoxious” campaign of menacing behaviour by stealing a portion of a “vulnerable” pensioner’s invalidity pension on a weekly basis over a near ten year period has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison.

The total value of drugs in the apartment was over €2,100 and those found in the car had a value of €1,700.

It is alleged that the man produced a large kitchen knife during the incident.
