As Hoosiers and more swarm the city to get a taste of BUTTER, the Recorder sat down with a few of the exhibiting artists to get an idea of what to expect from the third iteration of the Midwest’s only Black Fine Art Fair. 

It was a packed house the night of July 29 at The Jean McDonough Arts Center, as fans of hip-hop flocked to see the premiere “Wortown Rising.”

Many Hoosiers are likely familiar with the Black Lives Matter mural painted on Indiana Avenue in 2020 — and unfortunately destroyed seven days later — that led to the creation of the Eighteen Art Collective.
