Eastwood boys track had plenty of experience coming into this season with indoor state qualifiers Dalton Hesselbart (pole vault), Bryce Koprowski-Kistner and Robby Rothenbuhler  (triple jump, not a spring state meet event).

After leading Eastwood to the Division III regional tournament, Todd Henline is stepping down as head boys varsity basketball coach. During 11 years coaching in two separate stints, Henline made a mark at his alma mater.

During the football season, Eastwood coach Craig Rutherford noted that the annual non-league match-up with Ottawa-Glandorf has become a bit of a rivalry.

Eastwood 6-foot-3 senior Jacob Meyer cleared 1,000 points in the early stages of a 61-32 NBC win over Otsego on an alley-oop from Eastwood senior guard Lake Boos.  He was sitting at 1,061 points with two regular season games remaining.

If the Eastwood boys basketball team played every game like when they defeated Elmwood, 70-35, or defeated Rossford, 65-38, the sky could be the limit for the Eagles.

Eastwood 6-1, 182-pound senior quarterback Lake Boos got his chance to be a quarterback this year, and he made the best of it. Boos, a Division V second team All-Ohio selection, is the Alan Miller Jewelers All-Press Offensive Player of the Year.

Considering that two losses came to the state’s No. 4 ranked Division II team, Rossford, and two others to Division III regional qualifiers Archbold and Ottawa-Glandorf, Eastwood’s 15-9 boys basketball season last year looked impressive.

Rossford 6-foot-4 junior Ben Morrison and 6-5 junior Gavin Dewese have been playing basketball together for a long time.
