Tonights programs has been a long time coming. He was originally scheduled to be here in february but was granted by bad weather, Winter Weather and we are so happy he hung with us and we are so happy to have him here now. This happens to be kind of a happy confluence of Kansas City Public Library program...

A World War II veteran just wanted a screened-in porch. But after shoddy work and money spent, the porch never happened. The community is now stepping in to make sure he gets it.

LaVerne Fillmore, 97, of Mitchell, SD, died Friday, June 23, 2023, at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM Thursday, June 29, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial with military honors will be at the American Legion Cemetery in Mitchell where he will be interred beside Bette, the love of his life.
