LAHORE: The PPP Central Punjab organization, including President Qamar Zaman Kaira, General Secretary Chaudhry Manzur Ahmed and Information Secretary Hasan Murtaza Friday resigned from their offices.
The organization resigned a day after Khushab by-polls in which the PPP candidate could not even bag 500 votes. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has accepted the resignations. The current political situation came under discussion in the meeting chaired by Bilawal.
PPP Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, President PPP Punjab Qamar Zaman Kaira, General Secretary Chaudhry Manzoor and Information Secretary Syed Hasan Murtaza attended the meeting.
The top office-bearers of PPP Central Punjab tendered their resignations from their posts to pave way for election of a new leadership for the next three years. Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari appreciated the performance of the leadership of the central Punjab and said their loyalty with the party was unforgettable.

Both leaders discussed political situation of the country
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Head of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and former president Asif Ali Zardari have agreed to intensify anti-government campaign.
As per details, both opposition leaders, in a telephonic conversation, reviewed political situation of the country in detail and also discussed February 5 rally of the opposition alliance.
Earlier on Sunday, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari while stressing the need to over throw government said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will keep attacking the government in every possible way.

KARACHI/MULTAN: Rebuffing the government’s claims of differences within the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Asif Ali Zardari asserted on Sunday that the opposition alliance was united and it would gradually unleash all options to topple Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman’s statement came after Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the “unnatural” opposition alliance had “collapsed” as it lacked unity. “The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has also been divided into groups,” he added.

Former president warns of incumbent government committing ‘dangerous blunder’ in attempt to protect itself from ouster
The next few months are key to Pakistan’s political future, Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Sunday, warning that the incumbent government might commit a dangerous “blunder” in an attempt to avoid public pressure.
“It [the PTI-led government] might commit a blunder in the current situation, putting the country into grave danger,” he told PPP Punjab General Secretary Chaudhry Manzoor during a telephone call, according to a statement issued by the party. “The [opposition’s] Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is united and will continue its onslaught against the government from all directions,” he added.
