Korean chicken franchise Genesis BBQ said Friday it has opened its second overseas delivery and pickup outlet in Vietnam to establish a presence in the local food delivery market.

When Genesis BBQ introduced golden olive oil fried chicken to the country in 2007, most consumers thought it was just another ordinary deep-frying oil and didnt pay much attentions to the nutritional facts. To consumers, olive oil didnt particularly stand out from other cooking oils made from corn, beans, canola seeds, grape seeds or sunflower seeds.

Genesis BBQ in the United States has donated to American veterans of the Korean War with money collected from the franchises American restaurants and from the headquarters in Korea, the fried chicken franchise said Wednesday.

Controversy is rising over an additional 3,000 won ($2.30) charged for Genesis BBQs 20-piece hot wings when made with chilled instead of frozen chicken.
