The letter from Woodcroft, sent Thursday, was in response to one issued Feb. 26 by the Anglican Archbishop and Primate of All Nigeria Henry C. Ndukuba, in which he criticized Anglican bishops in the U.S. and Canada for the toleration of same-sex persons within their fold.

Diocese of Rupert’s Land Bishop Geoff Woodcroft says it is important to help people who are suffering.

I signed because of the relationships I have within the church with transgender and LGBTTQ+ people, people I nurture and care for, just like everyone else in the church, said Geoff Woodcroft, Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Rupert’s Land.
