Pressley Harvin III (Alcolu, S.C./Alcolu) was officially recognized by the National Football League on Tuesday as a 2021 NFL Scouting Combine invitee.
The NFL Combine – the league’s traditional showcase where top prospects are assessed by NFL general managers, coaches and scouts – was not held in 2021 due to Covid-19 protocols. However, the NFL released the list of players that would have been invited to the event had it been held in order to recognize them for ranking among the top prospects for the upcoming NFL Draft.
Harvin won the 2020 Ray Guy Award as college football’s top punter after leading the nation and setting Georgia Tech and Atlantic Coast Conference records with a 48.0-yard punting average. In addition to winning the Ray Guy Award, Harvin earned unanimous All-America recognition in 2020, joining
Crosby Huckabay were the two Jackets that landed in the hit column.

Georgia Tech will take its first road trip of the season next week, traveling to NC State for a four-game weekend series beginning Friday in Raleigh, N.C. The games will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.

Tech Earns No. 3 Seed in 2021 ACC Tournament
THE FLATS – Earning the highest ever seed in program history, Georgia Tech women’s basketball secured the No. 3-seed in the 2021 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets earned a double bye and will open the tournament on Friday, March 5 in the quarterfinals. Tech will face either No. 6 Notre Dame or No. 11 Clemson at 8:30 p.m. on RSN.
The semifinals will take place on Saturday on the ACC Network with the championship game to be played on Sunday at noon on ESPN2.
Tech finished the regular season on Sunday, defeating Pitt, 65-60, on Senior Day behind a combined 43 points from Lotta-Maj Lahtinen and Kierra Fletcher. Lorela Cubaj secured a game-high 17 rebounds as the Jackets capped the regular season at 14-7 overall and 12-6 in league play. Tech’s 12 ACC wins tied the highest-ever in program history, while its third place finish in the conference standings marked the highest regular-season outright finish.
RALEIGH, N.C. – In an Atlantic Coastal Conference Opening Weekend statement, No. 15 Georgia Tech outscored No. 8 NC State 25-9 on the weekend, including a 8-4 win on Sunday on Doak Field at Dail Park, to improve to 3-0 in ACC play.
The Yellow Jackets (6-1, 3-0 ACC) also captured their first sweep of an ACC opponent on the road since 2011 as the Wolfpack dropped to 2-4 and 0-3 in the league.
Offensively, Tech was once again electric, jumping out score four runs in the top of the first, thanks largely to two doubles. From there, the Jackets at least matched any run scored by NC State the rest of the way to maintain the lead.
THE FLATS –Georgia Tech has a representative on the United States team for the Walker Cup for the second straight time as senior 2020 U.S. Amateur champion Tyler Strafaci was officially named Monday along with the rest of the 2021 American team by the United States Golf Association.
The USA Team will meet Great Britain and Ireland in the 48th Match at Seminole Golf Club, in Juno Beach, Fla., Saturday and Sunday, May 8-9. It will be the first time the competition has been held in the spring on U.S. soil.
The 10-player team, which will be captained by Nathaniel Crosby, of Jupiter, Fla., also includes Three players earned places as the top three Americans in the World Amateur Golf Ranking® / WAGR® as of Feb. 10. They are: Ricky Castillo, 20, of Yorba Linda, Calif. (fourth in the WAGR); John Pak, 22, of Scotch Plains, N.J. (seventh in the WAGR); and Davis Thompson, 21, of St. Simons Island, Ga. (second in the WAGR).
