For those wanting to vote in the upcoming municipal elections, it’s not too late to register to vote, but you’ll have to hurry. Registration ends on Tuesday.

Five new candidates qualified on Friday for the upcoming municipal elections in November. The candidates will join the 15 who had previously qualified for a total of 20 candidates seeking seats this fall.

As campaigning for city council gets underway, West Point citizens have some decisions to make come voting day.

Familiar candidates will be on the ballot for local elections in November along with a few newcomers as qualifying nears completion. Elections Supervisor Andy Harper said 15 local candidates have qualified for the ballot overall.
