Fire takes out historic barn used as field hospital in Civil War
A barn used as a field hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg in the Civil War burned down overnight. Adams County Dispatch records show the fire broke out just after 2 a.m. Wednesday in a barn on the 2000 block of Baltimore Pike in Mount Joy Township, just behind the Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg.
