烟台医大胃肠医院卢霞副主任表示肿瘤标志物、胃功能四项、胃泌素17这三种验血检查，是查不出胃癌的。而胃镜才是诊断胃癌的金标准。它不仅能观察到胃肠道黏膜有无炎症、溃疡、癌前病变以及胃癌，又能取活检做病理检查，明确病变良恶性质，同时又可做内镜下治疗。目前为止，没有任何一种检查方式可以替代它。
