In a split vote, Gilroy City Council moved last night to consider a ceasefire resolution in regards to the war in Gaza. The move followed the testimony of several Palestinian residents, who said that they faced prejudice for their identities and that a resolution would show the city's support for them and those in Gaza.
As the annual tradition continues in San Jose on Thursday, a memorial for homeless residents will be celebrated in Gilroy for the first time, offering a space to mourn the dead and raise awareness for the living who are still unhoused.
