Gujarat HC rejects fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi's plea seeking to quash 2017 cheating case

​​ The city crime branch registered the FIR in 2017 after a woman filed a complaint that she had invested some money through a franchisee of Gitanjali Jewellery here, but the franchisee shut down and she lost her investment. Digvijay Jadeja, owner of the franchisee Divyanirman Jewellers; Choksi in his capacity as managing director of Gitanjali Group, and two directors of Gitanjali Group were named as accused in the case.

pnb: Expect to recover Rs 50-100 cr from accounts related to Nirav Modi, says PNB CEO

Punjab National Bank (PNB) CEO Atul Kumar Goel has revealed that the bank plans to recover Rs 50-100 crore from bank accounts associated with Nirav Modi, who siphoned off Rs 14,000 crore from PNB in connivance with some bank officials. Earlier, PNB unearthed that Modi and companies associated with him colluded with some of its officers and had fraudulently acquired guarantees worth Rs 11,400 crore to obtain loans from the overseas branches of Indian claiming to need the cash to import pearls.
