Down 1-0, the Griga Dream Ballers need to beat the Benny's Belize Hurricanes on Friday at the Russell ‘Chiste’ Garcia Auditorium to even the playoffs and force a third game in the three-game Belize Elite Basketball League semifinals.

The second-seeded Benny’s Belize Hurricanes couldn’t start their playoff series against the third-seeded Griga Dream Ballers last weekend because their home facility, the Belize City Civic Center, was unavailable.

Having already qualified for the Belize Elite Basketball League playoffs, the Hurricanes let one past them on Friday night at the UB Gym in Belmopan and were punished by the Belmopan Red Taigaz 102-95.

The Belize Benny’s Hurricanes will enter the BEBL’s playoffs in 2 weeks the #1 seed having won the regular season title. Friday night at the Civic by da Riva they came back from a 41-33, 8-point halftime deficit and throttled a Griga Dream Ballers offense that was firing on an inside-out strategy, holding them to just 24 second-half points.

The Benny’s Belize Hurricanes routed the Orange Walk Running Rebels 109-80 putting a stop to their six-game winning streak in the Belize Elite Basketball League in front of a full house at the Belize City Civic Center on Friday night.
