Gloucester Drawbridge News Today

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has announced service changes to take place on multiple lines throughout the month of May in order to prioritize work that will enhance service reliability on the system overall.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) announced Dec. 14 that construction has wrapped up on the agency’s new Gloucester Drawbridge that will carry the Rockport Commuter Rail Line over the Annisquam River. 

MBTA will be working on the railroad this summer.

The additional eight weekday trips added to the MBTA Commuter Rail's Fairmount Line under a pilot program in 2020 are now here to stay.

Buses will replace trains on some parts of the Blue Line and the Newburyport/Rockport Line this month to allow for construction projects.

These infrastructure investments aim to "modernize the commuter rail network." Read more at Boston.com.
