Today is the deadline for payment of the first installment of Wayne County Real Estate Taxes. Taxes can be paid today in person at the office of Wayne County Treasurer Donna Masterson between the hours 8am and 4pm. Jury selection in the Brody Murbarger case concluded yesterday with the selection of the final two jurors and two alternates, prior to the murder trial, which started at 1:30pm and ran through 4:00pm. Murbarger is accused of the disappearance and murder of Megan Nichols on July 3, 2014. The Cisne Village Board met Monday and approved a request from Sunrise Sanitation to change trash day from Thursday to Monday. Trash will be picked up today for this week and will be on Mondays starting next week. The board said the change is intended to prevent higher rates because of rising gas prices. Illinois State Police say 18-year-old Fairfield resident Alexis Sargent was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Clay City Friday afternoon. Preliminary investigative details indicate she was northbound on South Main Street at U.S. 50 when she failed to stop at a stop sign. She was then struck by an eastbound car, driven by 53-year-old Olney resident William Goluba.
