Day Pitney, a storied law firm with Hartford roots that has grown into one of the largest firms in the region, has named a Connecticut native as its new managing partner. Gregory A. Hayes, who has spent 35 years as an attorney with Day Pitney and its predecessor, became the firm’s managing partner on April 2. In this role, he oversees all 13 offices along the East Coast, from Boston to Miami.

Law firm Updike, Kelly & Spellacy is trading one downtown Hartford address for another. The firm, which has five offices throughout the state, is moving its headquarters from the current location at 100 Pearl St. into Goodwin Square, where it will occupy a slightly smaller space.
