Google Cloud and 2K Games have launched a new cloud-native game storage system called Open Saves.
Open Saves will provide a way for game developers to store game data without having to choose between storage solutions such as Cloud Storage, Memorystore, or Firestore, and is described as an open source purpose-built single interface for multiple storage back ends that’s powered by Google Cloud.
The interface has been designed with extensibility in mind, and can be integrated into a variety of titles on a range of platforms whether mobile or console, multiplayer or single-player running on any infrastructure from on-prem to cloud or a hybrid.

Redis Labs, developer of the popular Redis Enterprise database, is taking its strategic alliances with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud to the next level with announcements that make it easier to build and operate Redis-based applications in cloud environments.
Redis Labs is now offering its Redis Enterprise Cloud fully managed cloud Database-as-a-Service through the AWS online marketplace, the company announced at its RedisConf2021 event. Redis Labs also announced private preview availability of Redis Enterprise on Anthos with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).

Cloud data protection and data management technology developer Zerto Tuesday used ZertoCon 2021 Virtual to unveil new data protection offerings aimed at workloads running on the Amazon Web Services cloud.
The Boston-based storage company also unveiled the general availability of Zerto for Kubernetes, a continuous data protection offering for backup and recovery across cloud and on-premises environments, and introduced Zerto 9.0, the upcoming release of its flagship data protection platform.
