Google Voice will now alert users of both Android and iOS devices of suspected spam messages with a red exclamation sign appearing in the profile avatar spot.

In a filing made on Thursday, U.S. District Court Judge Daniel Calabretta said that while it was a "close case," the political committee had not "sufficiently pled that Google acted in bad faith" in filtering RNC messages into the spam folders of users of its Gmail service.

A Reddit thread asks if Google engages in link-buying sting operations where they will pretend to want to buy a link and then use that to penalize the network. John Mueller of Google responded by saying

Googles John Mueller is able to see and identify content search related spam without even speaking the language. Supposedly this is not a magical power or even that hard to do by someone who was trained to catch spam, but nevertheless, he is able to spot spammy content in languages he does not understand.
