A Highland single malt takes home the inaugural top prize in what is being billed as a global spirits olympics.

The new Tomatin 2009 Caribbean Rum Finish, a nine year old Scotch single malt whisky finished for an extra year in first-fill Caribbean rum barrels, is released alongside a whisky finished for three years in first-fill Amontillado sherry barrels.

The Tasting Alliance has announced the top whiskies from the 2023 SFWSC. These 27 whiskies were judged the very best from the 1,800 whisky entrants in the competition.

A rare cask has given up its rare liquid at Tomatin Single Malt, and the Scottish distiller recently debuted the Tomatin 50 Year Old.

An award-winning distiller has added 10 accolades to its growing collection after sweeping up at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

Tomatin has taken another step into the world of fine and rare whisky with the launch of its oldest travel retail exclusive, a 45 Year Old.

The new Tomatin 50 Year Old represents the oldest Scotch whisky from the Tomatin distillery to date.
