While it's looking like last hurrah for striped bass, groundfishing remains good with a nice mixture of species.

Rivers are flush with bait and bass, while offshore, tuna are still on a tear and Jeffrey’s ledge is producing good numbers of groundfish and some impressive cod.

Cod fever continues with good action at Jeffrey’s Ledge, while tuna are being found regularly feasting on sea herring around Scantum.

Anglers are landing big blues on topwater plugs, bigger bass remain by the Isles of Shoals as well as off Kennebunkport, while offshore, pollock numbers are good along Northern Jeffrey’s Ledge and Tantas.

Migratory stripers continue to filter in, while offshore, the previously quiet southern section of Jeffrey’s Ledge has been infused with haddock and pollock.

Stripers are everywhere with migrating bass continuing to filter in, and groundfishing remains great as well with a dizzying variety of willing species cooperating.

Unusually early, fresh striped bass schools, with many slots in the mix, have moved into rivers, marshes, harbors and beaches.
