Dominion Energy hired shepherds with 'Gray's LAMBscaping,' to graze two solar farms in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach.

Dominion Energy uses flocks of sheep at their six solar farms around the state of Virginia to keep grass and vegetation at bay, known as "solar grazing". So far, the company has about a combined 1,000 sheep on their solar farms from a company called Gray's LAMBscaping, founded by Jess and Marcus Gray. The use of sheep, as opposed to mowing, is environmentally friendly by keeping the vegetation in a more natural state and reducing water runoff.

Dominion Energy employs 17,000 people across the country. Now, about 1,000 sheep work for the power company as well. Two years ago, Gray’s LAMBscaping started out with 25 adult females, and now they have nearly 800 sheep.
