New Delhi/Varanasi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday held meetings with Development Ministers from Germany and Australia besides meeting with a senior EU official and the UNCTAD Secretary General on the sidelines of the three-day G20 Development Ministers’ Meeting being held in Varanasi.

Delegates are expected to discuss and agree on ways to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and foster synergies between the development, environment and climate agendas while avoiding costly trade-offs that hold back progress for the developing countries

The G20 development ministers conclave follows the Voice of the Global South Summit that was hosted by India in January, and the decisions taken at the Varanasi meet will also contribute to the UN summit on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September, the MEA said.
