New Rochelle, N.Y.: There were two reasons to mourn a heroic death on Good Friday, that sad yet triumphant day Christians noted the death on the cross of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We lost another great Jew, a heroic resident of New York who dedicated his days on Earth to the exposure, capture and bringing to justice of those who would exterminate, marginalize or punish his fellow Jews.

Brooklyn: If the Daily News still ran its beloved and greatly missed Critters column, the paper would be able to inform its readers about safely relocating feral cats.

Fishkill, N.Y.: Hats off to the Justice Department for enforcing a search warrant at Donald Trump’s castle at Mar-a-Lago! It was obvious that he broke the Presidential Records Act, but wow!

Brooklyn: F train service is suspended between Church Ave. and Stillwell Ave. in Brooklyn for the next few weekends. This has been happening on and off for the last two years already and seems to be continuing for at least another year.

Bronx: As we rapidly approach the April 1 start of a new fiscal year, I am concerned about a provision in the governor’s proposed state budget that could reduce the number of health plans in the Medicaid program —allowing no fewer than two but no more than five in each region of the state.

Brooklyn: As a middle-income worker with no corporate card, no expense account, and a neither-wheeling-nor-dealing job that will never woo “business travelers” to the city, I am tired of being told it is my civic duty to return to Manhattan to put my money into the NYC economy (“Get back,” editorial, Feb. 15).

Manhattan: The notion that success and status should be conferred to those who work for it is a basic tenet of American identity. Yet social mobility in the United States — the self-declared land of opportunity — lags behind Western Europe and Canada. The percentage of children earning more than their parents has dropped precipitously in recent decades. Recent studies show that about half of millennials live with their parents.

Whitestone: Before the second impeachment trial of Donald Trump, some wondered if the trial would be worth the effort because it is unlikely that there will be the necessary 17 Republican senators who will vote to convict Trump of incitement of the insurgency.
