campaign. the campaign wasn t running away from wikileaks back in 2016. the trump folks were embracing it. it is only now that they re somewhat retreating and saying they weren t really communicating with wikileaks. if they were coordinating the theft of the e-mails, that is the most serious allegation. i ty it is more of a political complaint and bad form for them to have been trying to schedule the release or coordinate the release of the e-mails coordinating the theft is really what i think would be the federal crime here. and very difficult to prove. greg, according to an earlier mueller team indictment comments were made on the same day russia s made the effort to break in the hillary clinton server. so the timing is interesting. his sarcasm saying that that is all he meant, is that a possible actual legal defense here even? the timing is very, very coincidental. and the pieces are starting to fit together the more we learn
mentioned about what congress is doing, what congressional oversight, is about his business dealings and things outside of mueller s purview so there are a lost potential problems coming up for trump as the house continues these investigations into his finances and his business. so for now, i think back to your question about how this invigorated energy is going to play for him politically, his base loves it and he was in front of a friendly crowd at c-pac but we ll see for the results of the investigation to see how this will play for him. and greg, the base also loved melania and we heard the president saying he spoke with the first lady about firing james comey before he actually fired him. and because the base likes melania so much, that is probably partly why he brought her up. however, based on those comments, could mueller now call the first lady in for questioning or is that conversation between spouses considered privileged? i guess he could. there may be a privilege issue
