Among the a list of legislative priorities proposed by leaders at the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission meeting Thursday were ways to free up police officers to enable better response times and providing conflict resolution and mediation skills training in public schools.

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission held its second meeting to address crime in the region. At the top of their priority list is developing a crime dashboard and identifying the best practices for solving the root causes of violence in the communities that make up Hampton Roads.
