FARMINGTON - At the RSU 9 Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday night, board members discussed the fundraising plan for the Mt. Blue High School Competition Field expenses. The Mt. Blue All Sports Boosters (MBASB) Turf Committee has been developing a capital fundraising campaign to replace the grass surface on Caldwell Field with synthetic turf.

Regional School Unit 9 directors also approved a proposal by the club to give naming rights to certain facilities at Caldwell Field at Mt. Blue High School.

After a lengthy discussion on Tuesday, Jan. 23, the Regional School Unit 9 board of directors voted to allow the Mt. Blue High School All Sports Boosters to fundraise to replace current soccer fields with Astro Turf.

RSU 9 and three neighboring school districts have revised their cooperative agreements between the districts in regards to their level of involvement with Foster Career and Technical Education Center.

The rally and march, organized by students in the University of Maine at Farmington Democrats, was in response to the June overturning of the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, which guaranteed Americans the constitutional right to an abortion.

On the warrant are budgetary items and an election for a three-year seat on the Select Board.

A 3.4% hike in spending is attributed to inflation, cost-of-living increases.
