Three large wildfires in New Jersey this month have been part of a fire season this has been 'busy, but not historic'

As the weather warms battle plans are being drawn up to combat a growing number of dangerous blazes across the state

No one was reportedly injured, and no homes were damaged, although firefighters said 20 structures are still considered threatened.

A gigantic wildfire has burned through nearly 1,000 acres of West Milford, New Jersey, leaving firefighters wrangling to contain the beast. It was 100 percent contained as of Saturday.

The fire was now only 35% contained, compared to 40% Thursday morning, fire officials said.

Officials say that 99% of wildfires are caused by humans.

On Thursday morning, officials with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said the fire was 100 percent contained after burning 3,859 acres of federal, state and private property in Manchester Township.

New York City is getting a taste of summer in early April, as temperatures broke 80 degrees Wednesday for the first time this year, with the heat expected to stay through the end of week.

The fire began Tuesday afternoon west of Route 539 in Manchester. As of mid-afternoon Wednesday, it's 60% contained.
