Firefighters in New Jersey continue to battle a raging wildfire that has already claimed nearly 4,000 acres since it began Tuesday evening.

The fire that burned more than 3,800 acres across Manchester and Lakehurst in Ocean County remains partially contained, but could it reignite?

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service issues 'red flag warnings' for 20 states due to dry conditions and strong winds.

The New Jersey Forest Fire Service said that the fire had covered 400 acres and has been 40% contained.

Officials on Thursday morning said the 3,859-acre forest fire in Manchester Township, Ocean County is now 100% contained.

The Kenouse wildfire in West Milford consumed 140 acres as of Thursday morning and has not yet been contained, according to the Forest Fire Service.

Helicopters will be dropping water on the West Milford fire throughout the day, the mayor said.

Crews battling the wildfires are being extremely cautious during the unusually warm weather.

No one was reportedly injured, and no homes were damaged, although firefighters said 20 structures are still considered threatened.
