The Mystery of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 May Finally Be Solved Introduction Scientists believe that after almost a decade, they will finally be able

Scientists partially reconstruct debris drift path based on ocean temp data stored in shells.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 vanished without a trace with 12 crew and 227 passengers on board in March 2014.

Whereabouts of MH370 may be revealed by the shells of barnacles that attached themselves to bits of the planes debris, say experts at University of South Florida.

By studying the chemical makeup of the shells of barnacles attached to debris from the aircraft, scientists may be able to track where the plane went down.

Studying barnacles in the Indian Ocean could reveal the location of flight MH370, an aircraft that went missing over the Indian Ocean in 2014 with 239 passengers.

USF geologist Gregory Herbert has used the method previously to determine the ages and extinction risk of giant horse conchs and investigate the environmental circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the Jamestown colony.

Scientists hope the barnacles can lead to a breakthrough.

A team led by the University of South Florida said Wednesday that research into barnacles could help determine the fate of flight MH370, which disappeared over the Indian Ocean in 2014.
