BARRIE, ONT. -- Researchers with Northern Tornadoes Project (NTP) are surveying the damage in a Barrie, Ont., neighbourhood after an EF-2 tornado touched down last week and said they believe some of the destruction was preventable. What is wrong is that we are still living with the decision made in the late 1950s to raze the original Penn Station and its triumphant public spaces and to later replace them with a subterranean transit hub in the basement of Madison Square Garden and 2 Penn Plaza.
