GujRERA has extended the deadline to submit Quarterly Progress Report (QPR) to Feb 21 for the Dec 2023 quarter after developers complained about issues faced in migrating from the old portal to the new RERA 2.0 portal.
“It is a major concern that homebuyers across India are facing challenges in getting their refund orders enforced. We gave our report after studying the Gujarat model of recovery to the ministry for its consideration. It's a very positive step that the ministry has written to all states suggesting the Gujarat model as a way forward for effective recovery,” said Abhay Upadhya, President of pan-India homebuyers body Forum for Peoples Collective Efforts (FPCE).
Previously, some developers would submit outdated photographs in quarterly progress reports (QPR) and provide misinformation about project completion to tax authorities to manage their profit tax liability.
Senior officers in RERA said that currently, around 200 project registrations are pending just because developers have not responded to queries raised by the authority.
