A man was arrested this afternoon (Jan. 7) after an Amber Alert was issued stating he had allegedly abducted a seven month old child from Long County.
According to Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles, Leander Nathaniel Harris was arrested in Statesboro and the child was found safe.
An Amber Alert had been issued Jan. 7, in the afternoon, alleging that Harris had taken Genesis Gutierrez Harris from her Glennville home in Long County around 9 a.m.

LONG COUNTY, Ga. - The 7-month-old girl who was abducted, was found uninjured Thursday afternoon, the GBI confirmed. A suspect, who has been identified as the child s father was taken into custody, officials say.
An Amber Alert had been issued for the abducted infant girl out of Glennville, Georgia Thursday morning.

LONG CO., Ga. (WTOC) - A 7-month-old that was kidnapped in Long County was located in safe condition in Statesboro on Thursday, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
An Amber Alert was issued for the infant on Thursday morning. She was reportedly kidnapped around 9 a.m. in the Glennville area of Long County.
The suspect, 23-year-old Leander Nathaniel Harris, has been taken into custody and will be charged with the abduction of a child and an assault on the child’s mother.
