Erin Lamb Shines Against Tennessee Again

Kentucky and Auburn entered Saturday tied for first place in the Southeastern Conference at 7-2 in league play with Florida, but it was Adanna Rollins and the No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats that put their stamp on the SEC race with a convincing 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-16) sweep of the Auburn Tigers inside Memorial Coliseum.

The litany of injuries suffered by the Kentucky volleyball team this season reads like the old children’s song – head, shoulders, knees and toes (knees and toes). However, now that those injuries are getting better, there are a couple of positive implications for the Cats.

The No. 16 Kentucky Volleyball team was down two starters Sunday afternoon, but battled to knock off Texas A&M in College Station 3-1 (19-25, 25-16, 25-22, 26-24) as Emma Grome dished out 44 assists and Elise Goetzinger had 11 kills and two blocks in the match.

The No. 19 Kentucky Volleyball team got a career-high six aces and 48 assists from sophomore setter Emma Grome and 15 kills from senior middle blocker Azhani Tealer on Wednesday night, beating the Ole Miss Rebels 3-1 (25-15, 26-28, 25-12, 25-20) in four sets.

The No. 19 Kentucky Volleyball team used 19 kills from Reagan Rutherford, 18 kills and nine blocks from Azhani Tealer and a career-high tying 63 assists from sophomore Emma Grome to outlast the Arkansas Razorbacks in five sets, 3-2 (29-31, 25-22, 25, 21, 21-25, 15-12) to complete a perfect road sweep.
