The lawyer for Cory Jamar Bigsby Sr., the father of missing Hampton 4-year-old Codi Bigsby, and his family have filed notice of an intent to sue against Hampton City officials that accuses them of jury tampering and obstruction of justice.

A judge in Hampton on Tuesday denied bond to the father of a 4-year-old boy who went missing more than eight weeks ago.

Bigsby, 43, is at the center of the disappearance of his 4-year-old son, Codi, with police openly skeptical of his story about what happened to the boy.

The move occurred after it was determined the father of the missing boy asked for an attorney twice during a police interrogation and was denied.

Police are continuing to search for Codi Bigsby, 4, after a boys jacket was found behind the apartment where he was reportedly seen last.

Hampton Police Chief Mark Talbot provided the city council with an update Wednesday on the “intense” investigation into the 4-year-old boy's disappearance. However, community members in attendance spoke out for more transparency from law enforcement and support from council members.

Monday marks a week since 4-year-old Codi Bigsby was officially reported missing in Hampton. Since then, authorities have charged his father with child neglect but have yet to located the boy.
