The men are accused of fraudulently seeking more than $35 million in federal relief funding.

HOUSTON — A federal grand jury in Houston has returned a superseding indictment against four additional individuals for fraudulently obtaining and laundering millions of dollars in forgivable Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans.

All four of the men are from Texas. They are accused of writing company checks for nonexistent employees, then cooperating with their co-defendants in cashing the checks and distributing the illicit funds.

Four more suspects have been charged in one of the largest COVID-19 fraud conspiracies in the United States.
