A young Mackay student who had eight drinks before getting behind the wheel for a snack was slammed for her “disturbing” behaviour.
Mackay Magistrates Court heard 21-year-old Georgia Gemma King returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.172 in the early hours of April 2.
Prosecutor Harry Coburn said Mackay police found the nursing student sitting beside her car, which had a flat tyre, at 1.25am along Broadsound Street in Paget.
He said King had earlier drank a six-pack of beer as well as two flutes of wine over five hours after returning home from work to her Walkerston home.

An alleged drug debt enforcer is accused of threatening to âbash, deprive the liberty and tortureâ addicts who owe money in a series of messages revealed in court.
Despite the âconcerningâ nature of the 38 year oldâs alleged conduct, he was granted bail because there was nothing specifying what drugs he was accused of trafficking.
Luke Daniel Mckenzie was arrested last week after police allegedly found $180,000 cash in cryovac bags and encrypted phones stashed in a mattress of his West Mackay home.
He is charged with trafficking, possessing tainted property, and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime after officers raided the Lansdowne Road property.

The charges dropped included trafficking, 16 counts of possessing dangerous and restricted drugs such as strong pain killers, medication for anxiety, erectile dysfunction and some linked to breast cancer treatment.
Prosecution also dropped a charge related to a quantity of cash alleged to be linked to drug offending.
The married father of two, who is a civil engineer with Mackay Regional Council, is still facing one charge of aggravated MDMA possession on October 23, 2020.
As a result Mr Bloxsidge was placed on fresh bail on his own undertaking that eliminated conditions linked to his previous release.
“There‘s been a considerable shift in the situation,” Magistrate Bronwyn Hartigan said.
