WILKES-BARRE — Mayor George C. Brown presented his 2024 budget proposal Friday at City Hall, with no tax or fee increases for city residents, property owners or businesses.

A Democrat and a Republican are both seeking their party’s nomination for mayor of Wilkes-Barre, and they’re running aggressive write-in campaigns for the other party’s nomination as well.

A Wilkes-Barre Shade Tree Commission member who wants to see marijuana decriminalized in the city intends to run for mayor in the 2023 primary.
