Council newcomers Rebecca Osowski, Ward 2, and Tricia Lunski, Ward 4, newly elected Grand Forks Municipal Judge Kerry Rosenquist and reelected council member Dana Sande, Ward 6, were sworn in on Tuesday night

Katie Dachtler and Jeannie Mock are departing the Council later this month after declining to run for reelection. Replacing them will be Tricia Lunski and Rebecca Osowski, who won in Tuesday's election.

The two newcomers will join the City Council, while City Council President Dana Sande will retain his seat after his uncontested race.

Here are the contested races, as they will appear on local ballots.

The candidates have varying opinions on how the city can address mental health.

In Ward 4, two of the three candidates are against plans to add another in-town bridge across the Red River.

The candidates gathered Tuesday, May 31, for an hour-long Chamber of Commerce forum.

Council elections, set for June 14, will see three seats at the ballot. Two of them will be open seats contested by five total newcomers.

In the weeks leading up to the election, the Herald is sharing City Council candidates' answers to a series of questions.

Candidates were surveyed by email, and responded earlier this month with their answers. Today, the Herald is reviewing how each candidate feels about Fufeng Group.
