India News: DEHRADUN: In a bid to promote adventure tourism in the Himalayan state, the tourism department has decided to waive off fees charged from Indian mount.

The Uttarakhands tourism department has waived fees previously imposed on Indian mountaineers to boost adventure tourism. For mountaineers up to 7,000m, fees have been removed for Indians, while foreign nationals will continue to pay Rs 20,000. Mountaineers above 7,001 m will no longer have to pay a Rs 6,000 fee for Indian nationals, with foreign nationals paying Rs 40,000.
