When the Hebron football team plays Plano East on Sept. 29, homecoming won’t be the only order of business outside of football on that night.

The following is a roundup of back-to-school giveaway and events planned for the end of July and first part of August.

Confidence is everything. Stuart Gould knows it, and he showed it on Saturday at Forest Hills Eastern’s Hawk Stadium for the Division 2 state track finals. Remember last year, when Gould got him? That was pure confidence in laying it all on the line in the final moments of the 400-meter dash to win a state championship. Whitehall’s Trannon Aylor was on the other side of Gould’s win last year. Two tenths of a second behind it, actually.

He Victor Valley Union High School District celebrated the recent commencement ceremonies for Silverado High School and Cobalt Institute of Math & Science.

TEXARKANA, Texas -- Pleasant Grove Independent School Districts largest graduating class to date was greeted with smiles and warm wishes as they walked in cap and gowns during a processional Tuesday morning at Margaret Fischer Davis Elementary School.

Stuart Gould is going to get his wish in one of his final track events at Tri County. The Vikings’ standout senior sprinter wanted to bring teammates with him to the MHSAA state track finals before the season began. He had big dreams to bring more than one person wearing Tri County running gear to Forest Hills Eastern’s Hawk Stadium for the Division 2 finals.

Stuart Gould ran off the track at Goodin-Parker Field during a practice, beaming with pride and confidence. Next to his teammate and good friend, Ian Boden, Gould flexed for the camera — something he and his Tri County teammates have grown accustomed to from their wildly successful football season.
