A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of Highway 50 and Brown Street after filing a false police report, accusing another person of kidnapping. According to the report, deputies were dispatched to the scene of a vehicle that had been reported in connection with a possible kidnapping in the area of Highway 50 and Brown.

Here is the Carson City area road report for week of August 18-24: The Nevada Department of Transportation will be continuing road work on Highway 50 from Arrowhead Drive in Carson City to Baldwine Lane in Mound House. There will be single lane closures on weeknights from 1 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. in the westbound direction and from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m.

Plane lovers and history buffs are in for a treat today. A rare B-17 bomber is making a stop at the Carson City Airport and will be available for rides and tours. Dancers can choose from country line dance at Carson Lanes or swing dance at El Charro Avita.
